Every organization needs efficient project management software to ensure the smooth execution of its operations, and Trello helps users do that with its intuitive, user-friendly, Kanban-style interface. Using Trello, users can visually keep track of all the stages of their project and share it with internal and external teams for improved collaboration. The software has a free version, which allows a single person per board, and different tiers of paid versions starting from $5. Trello also has an enterprise version that offers enhanced data encryption and hourly backups.

Let’s dive in and see what makes Trello stand out – starting with its usability, which makes it a feasible solution for non-technical users. Whether you want to set up a new project or onboard new team members, all with just a few clicks – it has zero learning curve.

The software also includes automation tools that are simple and easy to set up. The app consists of an automation bot, Butler, that can configure desired actions and rule-based triggers based on a few questions. Using this automation feature, users can set due date commands, notify team members, move cards from one column to another and assign it to the next team member – cutting down on the admin-relate tasks.

Trello also includes extensive team collaboration features by supporting options like document sharing, commenting, mentions, and notifications. Team leads and managers can also assign resources to the respective cards so users can keep track of what’s on their roster. Team members can comment or tag others on the cards related to a project to ensure all information about the project is centralized. On top of that, Trello facilitates integration with Slack, making collaboration a breeze! Integrating Slack with Trello enables users to paste Slack conversations on Trello cards, see task descriptions, modify due dates, or invite users within Slack directly to Trello cards or boards. Moreover, each user can turn on email, push, or desktop notifications to stay updated on their tasks.

However, there is one drawback – the app doesn’t support reporting options. Team leaders can’t evaluate employee or team performances on a higher level because it doesn’t show any statistics. Integration options with reporting tools are available using Trello Power-Up, but it’s not a powerful substitute for in-built reporting. In addition to analytics, these Power-Ups are also available for communication, file management, and other capabilities.

If reporting is not on the highest list of your priorities, then Trello makes an excellent tool for managing projects. It is also accessible as a mobile app, which allows you to do everything you can on the desktop app – cutting down project management to just a few taps. The mobile version is available at no additional cost; therefore, your teams can stay aware of what’s happening in the project even if they are away from the computer.

Overall, Trello is the perfect app for large organizations and small projects looking for absolute visibility and control over their teams’ tasks.
